Welcome to the blog assignment for Art Education 160.  This assignment takes the place of the "Myspace Assignment" found on your syllabus.

For this assignment, you will be using topics discussed in class and in the books to make 5 blog posts on our class page.

INSTRUCTIONS

Visit http://arted160.blogspot.com/ and make 5 total posts either in response to the Moderator Prompts I’ve given or in the Open Dialogue Sections.  You must make a minimum of 3 posts in the Open Dialogue Sections but may do more if you like. 

You are encouraged to respond to others’ posts but will only receive credit for original posts.  Lively discussion is great but always be respectful of others’ opinions.

In the Open Dialogue Sections, you are to find your own video or music clip online and post a link.  Tell me why you chose this clip and how it relates to something from class or the book.  Please double-check your link after you post to ensure it works.  You should not repeat a song or video that someone else has posted, unless you can give me a completely different discussion of why you chose it and how it relates to class and/or the book.

For your other posts, I will give several Moderator Prompts from music or dance or theatre and ask you to relate them to yourself and to class.  I am less concerned with quantity and more concerned with quality so there is no length requirement but I expect your posts to be well-thought out and relevant.  Re-stating ideas already posted by other students will not get you credit.

Remember, you must make a total of 5 posts, at least 3 of which are in the Open Dialogue Sections, for which you must include a link to a video or music clip and tell me why you chose this piece of art and how it relates to class or the book.

Each post will be made as a comment to the post made by me.  You will see all the moderator posts on the left side of the page under blog archive.  Click on the post you wish to comment on and post your comment in the blank text box below the comment.  YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR NAME OR YOUR LAST NAME.NUMBER in each post so that you can receive credit.

In the Open Dialogue Sections, you MUST include a working link to a video or song in order to receive full credit.

The blog is active all quarter so you have ten weeks to make 5 posts.  You can do them anytime as long as all five are completed by the end-of-quarter deadline on your syllabus. 

This assignment is worth 10 points of your final grade so each post, 5 total = 2 points each.
